Chatêau DuForte is a family cattery, based in Lisbon - Portugal, registered with the International Feline Federation (FIFe) through the Portuguese Feline Club (CPF). We work with British shorthair and longhair golden and lilac cats.

For our kittens we are concerned in choosing the right families, so we do several questions to their potential future family, upon the initial contact.

On our side, we work on the socialization of our little ones before leaving and we do all the screening of the main diseases to our parents, controlling all the stages of their babies' development with the necessary medical observations and all the daily care with their feeding and hygiene. Kittens usually only leave our cattery between 12 and 16 weeks of age, so that they are already fully autonomous and with their food stabilized. Sometimes the transition to solids is not easy and, therefore, the exit can only happen after we verify that all the steps have been successful. Our cattery is also our home, and we value our privacy and hygiene, so we only accept visitors when we deliver our kittens. After all, the future owners of our kittens will be our extended family. Notwithstanding, we are always available for video calling or sending previously recorded videos.

We only deliver kittens already sterilized, for a companion kitten. Our price includes the Pedigree, the complete vaccination for the first year, the chip with the data of the new owner, the veterinary bulletin with the health certification, the genetic tests of the parents (all parents are subjected to a very complete battery of genetic tests, made at certified European laboratories), certifying that there is no genetic history of heart disease or other, as well as the normal serologic tests of FIV and FELv, all deworming until leaving for the new family, and finally a small welcome kit with love for the arrival at the new house! For transportation outside Portugal we work with companies specialized in accompanying small cats, and the value is due by the future owner, it is not included in the value of the kitten.
